Homemade Fried Meatballs

Written on Monday, December 26th, 2011 @ 8:44 pm

My grandmother has made homemade fried meatballs on Christmas Eve for as long as I can remember. Well, I hosted the holiday this year; and of course, I wanted to continue the tradition. I found this amazing (and onion-free) recipe on http://www.meatballrecipes.net/fried-meatballs.html.

The ingredients are simple; and this cooks up in 30 minutes. Plus, I made the meatballs a day ahead and refrigerated them. On Christmas Eve, I combined the meatballs and Sweet Baby Ray’s Honey BBQ sauce and warmed them for 45 minutes in a 350° oven. Perfection!

Ingredients:

1 lb. of ground beef, 3/4 cup of grated cheese, 1 tbsp of oregano, dash of garlic powder, dash of onion powder, 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs, 1 tbsp of parsley and 2 medium eggs

Combine all the ingredients and form the mixture into balls. Coat a large skillet with non-stick olive oil spray (I used butter PAM). Fry meatballs for 10 minutes or until brown. (I fried about 5 to 6 meatballs at a time)

Enjoy!
